Re: Trans Spew
This is an interesting one as I, too, have a 90V8 with a unique oil leaking
problem. It only leaks about once per month, and only for a few days. The
leak is small and drips on the exhaust system forming a boiled undiscernable
gloppy mass on the garage floor. After the "few days" it stops completely.

This is also noteworthy as the V8 does not come with a dipstick for the AT.
You have to buy it or have dealer check the ATF. I asked a mechanic about
this and he said that the first cars came with sticks but were removed because
anal-retentive owners liked to top off the fluids and were causing problems
with overfilling. He showed me on his stick not to fill to the top. I
duplicated his stick, based on the level he filled the trannie to so I have my
own. I seem to remember filling my trannie recently, so I will be watching to
see if the leaking disappears when the level gets down a bit.
