Re: Weak A4

Weak engine? Weakness is a very subjective word and I feel I have to
defend the honour of my wife's 96 A4q 2.8 slushbox!
Comparing the A4 with an M3 is unfair. Comparing the 2.8 V6 to a 300D
is also unfair as the 300D is a lowrevving torquey engine. Because it
is different it does not necessarily mean it is weak. I find our A4q
2.8 slushbox to be a well balanced, highly driveable car. Yes, we all
like more hp/torque and yes, they are fitting a 30v head on the engine
for better breathing but after taking it on some long road trips,
driving through snow and foul weather, I don't think this engine should
be described as weak. My own car is a modded 1988 Toyota Supra Turbo
with some 350hp but my mindset changes when I drive the A4q and ,
thusly, I then appreciate the car for the sum of all its parts.

This is our first Audi and I really like the A4q a lot......

Not a flame, just a a counter to your comments.
