Three problems really.

If you get water in the ignition (particularly the dist. cap) you will have 
problems starting the car again (BTDT).  Bring a few rags so that you can 
dry out the ignition - something like WD40 will help also.

Once, I knocked off a vacuum hosepipe while pressure washing the engine - 
the engine would start, but couldn't generate any power.

Be careful not to contaminate any fluids, particularly brake fluid.
