My 5KCSTQ blows _lots_ of really cold air even in really hot 90 degf
(alright Jeff, I know, that's not really hot) ambients. Since your 100
is a much later car, I would assume that it should at least equal if not
better mine.

Craig, it could be alot of different things, but most likely a lack of
refrigerant charge. On some systems, you can hear a "shshshshshhs"
noise from the exp[ansion valve when the refrigerant is low. This
caused by air bubbles going through the valve. It is normal to hear this
noise on a fully charged up system only on startup and shutdown. If you
are getting some cold air, then I would guess that your compressor is
coming on. Check to make sure you are getting full airflowe through the
system up to your A/C outlets. ALso, you might check the evaporator to
make sure it isn't clogged with lint/fabric/plants/trees/small animals.

I'm not an HVAC engineer - I deal with HVAC noise, but by default, I
learn a few things by the way while working on the HVAC noises.
