Re: Coupe GT digital dash washout

Not really....even with my sunroof off and the sun scoring a direct
hit, I am still able to make out the dash...albeit with extreme
difficulty. :-) IOW, I can make out the dash in all but the worst
conditions. In moderate sunlight it IS SLIGHTLY more difficult, but I
have not had a problem with the sun completely "washing out" my digital
dash. Only, as I said previously, if the sun is beaming through the
sunroof directly onto the cluster.

I have no aftermarket tinting on my Coupe and I too have the orange
digital dash of the '87.5 Coupe GT line since mine was replaced under
warranty(my original cluster was red).

Maybe the sun is brighter down there?!? :-) Seriously, and even
though this will be insulting, I'll mention it regardless just in case:
how 'bout the brightness adjuster on the left side of the cluster pod?
...Is it turned all the way up?
In summary, it does happen to me too, but not with the frequency and
intensity that it seems to occur to your brother. Just another minor
problem we digi-dasher's have to live with in order to know EXACTLY how
fast we're going past a trooper while trying to keep the typical Audi
nose-dive under braking reaction from being too noticeable. :-)

You're welcome!
'86 C-GT - lovin' how modern my dash looks(when I can see it) compared
to that other, old-fashioned cluster. ;-) ;-)
