Hmmm... My friend was very puzzled a long while back when I told him I
couldn't replace my timing belt because I couldn't get the crank pulley
off. He said he didn't remember having to remove his crank pulley at
all to change his belt.

At the time, he had only had pre-'85 Audi Coupe GT's. Is that the
reason he didn't recall that 'detail'? Can you remove the timing belt
w/o taking the crank pulley off these earlier models?

I wonder...

(The Bentley shows the thermostat mounted on the side of the block with
the 'arrow' at the top, but pointing down. The arrow on mine is at the
top, pointing up. I think I'll turn it around the other way, and see if
my Coupe runs any cooler. I'd be so happy. "Oh, Joy!" <in my best
Stimpy impression>)
