I got a new cat from Whitney that was the correct one for my car for
about
$85.  I think you have to find the right catalog because I don't see them
all
the time but I think you could probably get a bolt on from them.  The one
I got was for an 85 5000.  I still have the car, though it's been
totalled
since then.  The cat was only on there for about a year.  If it is the
same one
that you need and you're interested, maybe we can work something out.
I don't remember the brand name but it was a recognizable good quality
brand cat.

You plan sounds good for the universal, just make sure you get one
short enough that you have room to work.
