A couple'o'things

OK, a couple of stupid things have finally reached my threshold
to start fixing them, and I need a few pieces of advice.

'89 100Q: it seems like the fresh/recirc flap on the heat is
busted (windows fogging, and no "thud" of the flap opening and
closing [thanks to Peter Schulz for pointing that clue out]).
How do I get at it? Bentley says to take off the glove box, but
doesn't say how, and there are no obvious fasteners there.

'90 90Q20V: lumpy idle. When cold, the idle modulates between
1000 and 1200 at ~1Hz. Once warm, it's OK. Dirty/clogged ISV?

'90 90Q20: squeaky steering wheel. When cold, the steering wheel
sort of squeaks/grinds when turning. It seems to be the ring that
makes the electrical contacts behind the wheel. What's a good lube?
WD-40? Dry graphite? 10W-40?

Only my cat shares my opinions, and she's pretty lumpy herself.
