Re: Dyno test inspection
I live in Connecticut and had the emission test done on my 5Kq last august.
There is a different line for 4-wheel and all-wheel and the two guys in
charge of testing asked "This is rear drive right?" When I explained that it
was all-wheel they walked to the back of the car and seemed to point at the
quattro written in the defrost and told me to hold on. After a quick
discussion with who appeared to be in charge, they came back and perfomed
the old idle with the sniffer in the pipe. I don't know if they were not
equipped to do the test or just didn't know how. Noting that there is a line
for all-wheel and the TWO sets of dyno wheels looked to be adjustable, I
assume they just didn't know what they were doing. It was the Bloomfield
sniffer station for anyone familiar with the area. Anyone in CT had the
privilage of the full rev'em up test? I'll be seeing them again in '99.
