Seems that I went down this path recently in my 5ktq. In my case it was bad
brushes/voltage regulator and the clue was the battery light did not come on
when the key was turned to the on position--easy fix it turned out.
I got there by kinda following the Bentley as well. So let me get this
straight...if the alternator goes bad, you get no light and no charging. If
the battery light bulb goes bad, you get no light and no charging. What is the
best way to differentiate if the apparent symptoms are the same? (Besides
getting out the shotgun and changing parts willy nilly.) I only ask becuase it
may help me or someone else someday...TIA
