Similar to what you are experiencing, except only when it would go from 1st to
2nd. The shift was not clean and crisp. I guess I could describe it as slipping
actually... i.e. hesitating from going from one gear to the next...

It DEFINITELY does not sound normal. I would have it checked out if I were you. I
would presume that it could only get worse...

I'd say so. For safety's sake... have it looked at... before disaster strikes...
