90 Quattro Coupe Engine DropOuts and parking brake

I was considering buying a 1990 Quattro Coupe with 99,000 miles. When I was
test driving it the engine would hesitate while I was accelerating.. Is this
a big issue/concern. Also the parking brake did not work. It did no seem to
have any tesion on it. I was assuming the cable was broken. Are there any
other things I should be looking for? How many miles is this car good for?

I would appreaciate any help on this!
