Power Antenna to Fuba whip conversion ? anybody done it ?

Complaining takes up first 5 paragraph's... go to 6 for my
question :-)

I've had it with the power antenna on my V8. Don't go all
the way up, don't go all the way down. Eventually the
cable broke and it was turned into a manual antenna.....

New mast is a little better but still wouldn't go all the
way up.....

Got sick of fiddling with it... put the one with the broken cable
back in and lived with it. Reception was ok.

That was until a well meaning friend took it through the car
wash. Shut off the radio, heard the motor whine and thought
it went down. Of course it didn't and it got broken off :-(

My 90 V8 has one of the later build powered antenna's mounted
on the driver side rear fender. At this point I would like to
put a black Fuba amplified signal whip back there.

I figure it will match the Black cellular antenna on the passenger
side rear fender :-)

Stopped by a few car stereo places trying to get the Fuba antenna.

No luck.

- Anybody done this before ? if yes and it worked well.....

- Where do I get an antenna ?

Thanks,

Mike L.
