      Get some new mats. Let me know when, I'll take the old ones
      off your hands....  Put some velcro on the back or the mats
      and on the floor, should work fine.  If the glue on the
      back of the velcro doesn't hold, a regular stapler seems
      to hold the strips on fine.

      Why would you want to remove it?  The way the airbox is
      setup on the V8Q (unecessarity complicated), ANYTHING
      that accidentally falls in there while doing any
      work in the area would fly into the intake manifold
      if it weren't for that screen. BTDT.  Do you REALLY
      want to fishing around in there for an errant air
      filter screw in the hopes that it didn't get lodged
      in an open valve or worse?
