Subject: Dogs in our cars, and mud flaps

Okay how do those of you who have dogs, (ie a 95 pound retriever) put them in
your cars, YOU AVANT GUYS DO NOT NEED TO RESPOND! ;] I have tried putting a
blanket down but that does not seem to do any good. Trying to save the leather
seats in my 4000 while taking the dog places. Also I saw a 91 200 tq today and
was wondering about the mud flaps on it.... Would they work on a 4000q? What
do those of you with lowered cars , that the tires stick out, do to prevent
the mud up the side of the cars?

Joe: You can't remove the rear seat and get more space, because your q has a
gas tank directly behind the rear seat backrest. What you could do is pull
the seat base and backrest (it's pretty easy, actually) and build yourself a
dog carrier; or go to a recycler and buy a velour seat out of an old 4k and
use it for dog duty; switching back to leather when needed. You might be able
to find similar colored cloth/velour seats to your leather...
Mud flaps were not factory options on the '91 200q; they're either audi
accessories, or from Pep Boys or the like. Find some cheap ones that fit the
body contour, then trim to make them look good. Watch the tire clearances,
though...
