While I don't dispute your comments about the Viper, I would add that
with that monster 8 liter V10 engine, I kind of expect it to have
the performance that it has. Imagine if Audi had a production engine
that size what sort of performance it would have. That's almost twice
the displacement of the V8 4.2 which already pumps out a healthy 300hp
with a 4-valve head on the A8. Go to 5-valves and things get even more
interesting...
But Audi would probably never build anything like that. It simply isn't
Audi's "style" (and I don't mean just the car's shape). The Audi Avus
would have been leagues beyond the Viper (not only in performance, but also
in terms of design, technology, refinement...). Too bad it was only a
concept car.
