Audi 100 2.8 V6 or Audi 200 turbo? Hmmm...
Hi!
Annoying little me again. I am going to try and sell my
old '90 200t auto FWD and perhaps replace it with a '92
200t auto FWD. Just discovered today that a friend's
brother can get hold of a Audi 100 2.8 V6 12-valve
5-speed manual with 97,000km on the clock for about
US$6100, the 200t 10-valve is going for US$5400.
The V6 is from some rich Japanese guy who has decided to
go to Australia.
What do the listers recommend? The 200t or the 100 V6?
The V6 is called the 500SEL, which means it is probably
a 93 model. Since I'm probably going to want more than
128kW from the car I need to know how upgradeable is the
V6 compared to the 200t MC 10-valver. I own an MC and I
have a dynatuned chip for it. This 200t is showing low
boost (max 1.2 bar), but I solved my 1.1 bar problem on
my older 200t. It also shows some low oil pressure at
idle, but so does my odler MC. Temp goes up to 100 degrees
sometimes, but it needs a service. Power seems lacking,
but the 200t is in pristine condition otherwise. I have
not yet seen this 100 V6, I will by tomorrow, but just
want to know from listers what they think is more power-
upgradeable and cheaper in the long run. I love the 200
10-valve MC so I'm leaning towards the 200 right now,
but the 100 has a phenomenal engine and the newer body too.
:) And a manual! :)
