Engine noises - oil starvation (please help)?

I have been hearing some strange noises coming from the engine bay during
cold-start and continuing through untill the engine is hot (oil temp @ 1st
mark after 60 degrees).  These aren't the typical lifter chatter noises, but
do seem to be coming from the head & block.  Everything is normal after the
car is hot, but boy does this have me worried.  The car has 105k miles and has
a new head, valvetrain & oil pressure switch with only 1k miles.  Everything
was normal w/new head for aprox. 1 month/1k miles, and now this.   

Any ideas?  Weak or failing oil pump?  Should I not be driving?  The garage
that did the install doesn't seem to be overly concerned and told me to drop
the car off whenever it's convenient.  Well I have about 800 miles of
travelling to do before it becomes convenient!
