I don't know what an exhaust tick sounds like...  The exhaust studs and nuts
were replaced, and I don't see any white deposits at exhaust joints. After
full warm-up and one hour cool down, sounds are not any worse.

I do hear a ticking coming from somewhere near the exhaust manifold side of
the head, could this be what your describing?  This sound does not worry me as
much as the other cold start sounds.  At cold start the engine sounds oil
starved and kind of sloppy sounding.  This is what really concerns me.
