Re: Mystery Audi

my only advice in interfacing with the sfDPT juggernaut
is to do everything on time, retain copies, and use
registered mail. in this case, photocopies of the
registration that lists the car's color/model/etc and
a brief description of the descrepancies should suffice.
ask them to "dismiss the citation in the interest of
justice". i worked in traffic court (and criminal) for
a few summers in santa clara county and this is the
lingo that those bearu's use (i never could spell that
	word).

if you send stuff in late you'll lose your right to
protest. also, in sf you are not deigned the right to
a trial for parking citations anymore. it's pretty
much a farce when it comes to justice. you have a pretty
clear case, though. the department of parking tickets
people are pretty sloppy filling out cites; i always
wait to get the mailed courtesy notice becasue often
information was entered into the computer wrong and
"sharon street" will be listed as "sharton street" which
does not exist so the ticket is not valid.

good luck, and i think you'll be fine.
