Dave, as a person who used to live in a communist country, let me tell you
that I find this point of view pretty much dangerous. Sure, wearing seat
belts saves lives and therefore is a good thing. Does this mean that
forcing people to do this is a good thing, too? Not in my book. Think about
it - walking alone at night can be pretty much dangerous, too (heck,
depending on where you live, it can be potentially much more dangerous than
driving w/o seatbelt). Why don't we pass a law then to arrest and transport
back home anyone caught walking alone at night?
