1997 S6/S6 Wagon in the US ??

I got a new Audi book from Dyment today, 1997 Model Change Information (WSP
521 232 00) printed 1/97.
On page 49 it shows a 1997 S6 wagon and states:
		"The 1997 S6 wagon and sedan will be 
		 produced for the U.S. market through 
		 November 1997. After this, S6 
		 production for the U.S. will end."

The book list the specs for the car, 20valve 5cyl. Turbo engine.
Page 58 lists the Audi Model Line for 1995 and 1996.
1995 list the S6 and S6 wagon and 1996 does not show them.

Does anyone know for sure if they really produced and sold 1997 model year
S6's in the U.S. ?!

I thought the last model year was  1995.

I drove a 1994 S4 with an I. A. modified computer, an upgrade turbo and
exhaust manifold last week. 
What a dream car!!!
