Re: poor manners...
In a message dated 5/6/1999 "R. W. Zehr" <rzehr@pacbell.net> quotes "(The
jerk's comeback...)":
<< I'll trade you an 83 Ur Quattro, I paid $4500 for. It too is in "great"
shape! Plus I have an 87 4KQ in excellent shape as well. I paid $3000 for
it. >>
Gee, that wouldn't be the $4500.00 ur-q bought out from under a q-lister
friend of mine who was in his car with cash in hand last Saturday would it?
Ethics abound...
$3000.00 for a clean 4kq? Isn't that pretty close to top dig for a car that
cost ~17k in 1987? (That was what I paid for my first q brand new back then
anyway).
Rick ends with:
<< Rick Zehr `91 CQ - new subscriber to the quattro list,
might not be for long if this is typical behavior >>
Rick, I truly hope you don't let this unfortunate incident push you away from
the quattro list. I know it's not easy to shrug it off...but you kinda have
to.
I recall seeing your car parked next to mine at Monterey Historics last
August and thinking it was the nicest Coupe Q I had ever seen. The car is
indeed "better than new" and any asking price you feel is fair, I think, is
justified given the condition and toys. As has been previously posted, it may
be a bit of a wait to find the right buyer, but asking what you think is fair
is certainly no grounds for being flamed the way you have been.
Hang around and let's hope this passes. Hope to see you and whatever you are
driving again at Monterey this August!

flamer's 4kq)
