Re: Subject: Temp Warning Light
I had the same problem on my 87 5ks when I replaced the expansion tank
(Due to a nasty crack in the bottom). The light would turn on at any
time, whether the fluid was high or low. If you can empty and remove
your tank (I don't know how diff. the 4k is), shake it and the float
should rattle on the inside. If the float is OK, then check the wiring
underneath to the sensor plug. This is where my problem was. The thin,
blue wire had been broken. It's a very simple re-wiring job. My problem
was solved.
