RE: power windows (maybe not the regulator)
Just fixed this problem, sounds like you have a cracked (broken) wire in the
door hinge tunnel. Bit of a nuisance to fix but it's a heavy gauge red with
blue trace wire. The break should be closer to the chassis than the door and
can be seen when you pull the rubber boot back - I found removing the door
side of this boot gave better access.
This wire from the inside of the car is in the largest taped bundle that
comes into the drivers footwell behind the cover that the hood release lever
is attached to. Removing the foam 'puck' that secures this bundle is also
helpful. While you are in there, check for any wires that have vertical
cracks or are showing any green (copper) corrosion - time to fix them is
now!

Subject: power windows (maybe not the regulator)
Hello,
Upon further investigation, I think the problem I'm having (driver side
window stuck in down position) may not be a broken regulator. When I
press down on the switch I can hear the motor "click" on, but since the
window is already all the way down there is no action. When I press up
on the switch there is no sound of motor activation at all. I've
switched the wiring to other switches and the same results. I'm
wondering if there is a problem in the switch that doesn't allow the
window to go up when the door is open. Does this sound familiar to
anyone, and if so, where should I look now and what should I do?
Thanks in advance,
Dan
