I suspect that Audi 'optimistically' figured the piston would stay forever
in the clean and shiny shape they are in the shop manuals...
Then reality hits!
Either someone has buggered the 12mm hole, or it's full of dirt, or failing
that, it's still to stiff to turn the piston.
I just used vise grips ("Gasp" says the readers!) very carefully on the
very end of the piston. The tiny bit that sticks out past the rubber boot.
I see no problem with this (If done carefully) as that part of the piston
acts on the hydraulic seal.
It worked for me! Your sucess may vary...
