Oil Consumption/ AC and Multifunction switches

QList,
I recently purchased a 1989 200 quattro with MC engine - with 275,000 km.
Almost every thing works...

1. The column mounted multifunction computer switch reset button and one
direction arrow button do not work. Is there a way to clean these contacts
or fix this function- without buying a new column switch which are $$$$?

2. The Airconditioning Off/ Econo and Bilevel switches only work 1 time in
30 (or so) - when the econo switch works the others do too, but its either
all switches or just the Auto, Defrost plus Lo High switches. Is there a way
to clean these contacts or fix this function?

3. I checked the compression - normal and there are no obvious oil leaks but
the oil consumption was > 1 litre in < 3000 km, The car still has the
Castroil GTX 10W 30 in it from the previous owner - will be changing to
Mobile 1 - though if the oil consumption is this high, perhaps not. I did
move my turbo bypass valve mod and Schrapknell Knobben (TM)fromthe 86 to the
89 - so the engine is likely running a little harder (at up to 1.7 bar) than
it did previously. This seems high since my 1986 5000CD quattro - with the
same engine (with Mobil 1 10W 30) burns less than 1/4 L in10000 km (with new
rebuilt head - but was still < 1 L/10000 km before head was replaced).

Thanks In Advance for any assistance you can provide.
