Re: Osceola Car Show

Thanks for sending the report in Todd. It was nice to meet you in person
after seeing your posts for so long on the Q-list. I mostly just read
the digest and seldom say much. I am a first-time Audi owner (34 K on
the clock) and figure I should sit back and learn from the pros.

Anyway, the show was a lot of fun. We had great weather and lots to look
at. One correction I would make to Todd's post is that the GOH (Guest of
Honor) was George Barris (rather than Harris), creator of the Batmobile
for the original TV show and many other famous rods. A couple of his
creations were prominently displayed near the registration tent.

There were actually four Audi's there. There were the three renegade
"German Other" valiantly staring down about 30 Vettes across the grassy
sward, and then there was the brand new (unsold) TT perched nose down on
a steep little bank right behind the registration tent (courtesy of one
of the local dealers). I thought it strange for the dealer to park a new
TT there but then not to see any other Audi presence. Go figure.

Todd explained how we won first and second in the German Other category,
which I find supremely funny as I was only looking for a better parking
spot and to promote a Audi presence in the middle of so many other fine
automobiles. Still, it was fun to be part of it all. My only regret is
that the judges had only two Audi's to choose from. Maybe next year.

Put it on your calendars Audi fans. It is usually the 2nd Saturday in
September and is a great time.
