5kt Sunroof - Please Help

The sunroof on my 84 5000 T was not working properly. It was dragging and 
racheting.

I removed the entire mechanism, cleaned everything, replaced one cable guide, 
adjusted everything according to Bently.  It now works smoothly except when 
operating from tilt open to closed.  It won't close all the way flush and 
then rachets. Worse than ever in fact. 

It tilts up smoothly and easily. Opens and closes horizontally smoothly and 
easily. It is just the transition from tilt up to closed and just the last 
fraction of an inch of movement. 
I have lubricated everything, adjusted the panel fore and aft and have now 
had the whole thing in and out of the car about 7 times.

There is one "L" shaped block of foam rubber that fell out when I first 
pushed the inner panel back after releasing the tilt up springs.  Where does 
this block go?  I have tried it in several locations, with no change.
Can one of you 5kt experts help. Please
