RE: Fluctuating Idle / more info.
Brett
Thanks for the reply, I should have stated (duh) that the car is a UK spec and therefore has no cat and O2 sensor (lucky me). The gauges are all electric, the only vacuum pipes moved / extended were the ones for the diff lock switch, it tested this this morning and both diffs lock and unlock no problem, if there was a vac leak there (they poke through the carpet on the trannie tunnel beneath where the radio goes) then I doubt if the diffs would lock.
Since this morning I had a look at lunchtime and started the car tickover was low instantly 200rpm, I then went for a drive to warm things up, and found that after a couple of miles the idle would now sit at 1000rpm and fluctuate of it's own accord back and forth to 1200rpm, spooky....... I know it's halloween but this is stupid. So disconnect the ISV idle returns to normal, reconnect ISV can't make it do the same trick. What the @##~~&&** hell is going on. I did not touch any of the vac hoses in the engine bay when fitting the gauges. Is the ISV toast or maybe I should try some WD40.
I think if I had a serious vac problem then it would show up elsewhere in the cars performance, am I right or wrong here??????

How many miles? Oxygen sensor's last replacement? vacuum leak at
one of your new gauges? bumped hose while installing gauges? Fill
up with gas recently?
I'm tempted to point a finger at the oxygen sensor. It isn't used
during full-throttle acceleration, if I remember correctly.
