RE: Shims for '84 Quattro UR
Assuming the engine in question will use the same shims as a Rabbit(A1 Golf
in Europe), there are sub-3.0 shims available. The thinnest I have seen is
2.85(2.80??), thinnest I can get is 2.90 from Virtual World Parts -
http://www.parts4vws.com - I do not believe they are listed on his(Mike
Potter's) site, but if you email/call him, he has gotten 2.90s for me in
the past.
