Dealer dis-service award- Valley Motors

Once again, I've tried to use my local Audi dealer for something, and come
away somewhere between disgusted and enraged.

My wife's 95 Cabriolet had a new battery put in- despite repeated
warnings, the monkey-lads removed all power from the car, and the Gamma
radio locked. Since I bought the car used, I had no idea of the code for
the radio, so.. (fear, dread, loathing..) off to the dealer- Valley Motors
in Cockeysville, MD.

They pull the radio, get the serial no., look up the code, try it _once_,
screw up, and then tell my wife the radio's bad. "If you put in the wrong
code too many times, they just lock up for good- We have exchange radios in
stock, only cost you $130 for the radio and $33 for labor- should we go
ahead and put one in?". This is after charging her $25 to screw up possibly
the simplest possible Audi-specific activity known to man. Good news- she
told them no, and I got the radio going first try.

The most charitable assumption is that they're utterly incompetent- I'm
leaning toward they'd rather sell an "exchange" radio, and wouldn't it be
amazing if the "exchange" radio happened to have the same serial number as
the original?

I'm going to call and write all of the appropriate nitwits, but based on
past experience, I'm pretty sure I'm wasting my time. What about a "hall of
shame", "monkey-lad awards", or "top ten reasons dealers s*ck" on the new
web site? I'd like to see this publicized as widely as possible- they
deserve at least that.
