Hard warm start-85 CGT

My 85 CGT is getting worse at starting when left for about 10-20 minutes after
full warm drive. The car cold starts fine, and hot start within 5 minutes or
so is fine. It fires up and then goes what seems to be very rich condition (I
smell fuel). I haven't been able to yet get under the hood to check it out,
but it is getting worse by the day. The fuel pump is also now audible and I
don't recall hearing that before. That could be that never before did I open
the door and listen for it, which I did yesterday. It started several months
ago to need a little encouragement to get going after sitting for said
duration. Now, I'm not sure I will be able to keep it going at all. Before it
never completely died, now it dies several times and chokes and sputters for
some time. Any BTDT, or places to start the elimination process?  TIA
