Well color me stupid...
the ignition (or perhaps fuel) ecu must be doing the counting and
turning off... sounds like the only solution is to trick whatever device
is doing it into not doing it. Sounds like a job for the QLCC, ie
reprogram the EPROM to allow a higher rpm before cutoff.
Ideas for Todd out there?
He wants to eliminate or raise the rev limiter on, I think, an 86 cgt.
